I Guess It's Kinda Like a Bucket List

Things I would like to accomplish before I graduate high school...
  1. Go to Lake Powell ( I know it is hard to believe that I have lived in Utah my entire life and never been there.)
  2. Write in my journal everyday for a month
  3. Fall asleep in my hammock in the backyard
  4. Go on a real picnic- basket and all
  5. Go out of the country
  6. Watch the sun rise and set on the same day
  7. See a drive-in movie
  8. Learn to play the guitar
  9. Learn to french braid
  10. Learn another language
  11. Get 100% on a math test
  12. Go snowshoeing
  13. Learn to golf
  14. Learn to eat with chopsticks
  15. Sleep for more than 12 hours straight
  16. Own a pair of red shoes
  17. Grow my hair longer than it has ever been
  18. Dye my hair back blonde
  19. Be able to cook just about anything
This list will probably be continued in a later post.

Brace Face

When I was younger, I had horrible teeth, to say the least. There was a huge gap between the front two and I had a 110% overbite. You don't believe me? Take a look.

Before

I was obsessed with braces when I was little. I would pull apart paper clips and make them fit my teeth so I could pretend I had them. I was so excited to get them. Little did I know, braces were not fun. Not fun at all. Swollen gums, cut open lips, they were just all over annoying and painful!

During

After almost three years of constant orthodontist appointments, not being able to eat apples whole, and rubber bands that prevented my mouth from opening all the way, I got them off. Let me tell you, it was worth the pain and suffering! Look how much better!

After

P.S. I really really miss my blonde hair! Hopefully I will get it back soon!
P.P.S. Jane, this post was in honor of you getting your braces off tomorrow!

My Name is Kaylee and I am Addicted to Online Shopping

So I have a serious problem. I like to shop. A lot. Online.
I don't really have anything to say except I need help. Almost all of my paychecks go to shopping online for clothes. I can't resist 15% off your entire order, or free shipping, or any of those ridiculous sales. I like to think that I get a good deal when I shop online. I really don't.
Is there some kind of rehab for problems like this?
So I am going to challenge myself. I am going to not spend any money online until March 16th. That is one whole month. It will be hard. Possibly one of the hardest things I have done in my young life.
I will succeed. You just wait.

Do You Think We Need Another Dog?

Yes. That is a stuffed animal dog in Bridger's arms.
No. I did not put it there.
He did that all by himself.

Groundhogs and Summer

I have never quite understood the concept of Groundhog Day. If the groundhog sees its shadow doesn't that mean it's sunny and summer will come sooner? I have never understood that.
Why do we even let a groundhog decide if there is six more weeks of winter? Isn't that Mother Nature's decision?
Is this even considered a holiday? If so, could we please at least have no school?
Anyway, so apparently this year the groundhog saw its shadow. Six more weeks of winter. I don't hate winter. But it's not my favorite. I sometimes stay up till early hours of the morning thinking about summer. This sounds ridiculous. I just really want summer to come.
Things I love about summer:
  • When your face feels stiff after you get a little bit sunburned
  • The smell of sunscreen and mosquito repellent
  • The feeling of not having any homework
  • When it's 9:00 at night and it's still not dark
  • Keeping the windows open at night
  • Flip Flop tan lines
  • Not having to find a jacket or coat before you go outside
  • Laying in the hammock in my backyard
  • Early morning bike rides to Cheese Park with my dear friend Maegan
  • Warm rain
  • Not wearing any shoes. Ever.
  • Not getting ready for the day
  • The smell of freshly cut grass
  • Endlessly eating snow cones
Let's be honest here. Whats not to love?

To Whom it May Concern

Dear Snow,
My little car Ponyboy and I do not like you.
So maybe you should stop.
Sincerely,
Kaylee

First Car Accident

I knew the day would come when I would get in a car accident. I just didn't know it would come so soon!
I really thought I could at least make it a year.
I only made it to four months.
So here is the story. I was in a line of cars pulling out of the high school parking lot. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a girl who was clearly distracted. She was waving and screaming out her window to her friends outside. So I silently said to myself, "What an idiot. She is going to hit someone someday." Little did I know, that someone was me, and that someday was today. So you probably can figure out the rest of the story. She let off the brake too soon and rolled into my car. Ponyboy (yes, my car has a name) was fine and there was fortunately no damage!
