Oh I Have a Story For You

I know you are all dying to hear about my trip to Myrtle Beach. Even if you aren't, I'm still going to tell you.

Wednesday: Woke up. Drove to airport. Got on plane to Atlanta. Arrived in Atlanta about twenty minutes late. Tried to get to the other side of the airport in 15 minutes (the Atlanta airport is the biggest and busiest in the world so this was a challenge). Got to our gate 2 minutes late. Missed our connection to Charleston. Tried to find a new flight to Charleston. The next available flight was at 10:45 p.m. Sit in the airport praying that we can get on an earlier flight. Delta finds room for us on a sooner flight. Make it to Charleston. Luggage is nowhere to be found. Finally find luggage. But the stroller is missing. Somehow we found it. Got rental car. Had Sonic for dinner. Drove 2 hours to our condo. Settled in and fell asleep.

Thursday: Went to the Food Lion for groceries. Cashier's name was Ima Jean. Had lunch. Went to the beach. Went to a pizza buffet called East of Chicago. Had barbecue chicken pizza. Read Hunger Games. Took a drive around the town.

Friday: Went swimming. Went to the beach. Read some more of Hunger Games. Had spaghetti for dinner. Drove to North Carolina for the fun of it. Stopped to get paper towels at the Food Lion in North Carolina. Our cashier was named Ida. Told my mom about Ima Jean and Ida- how you can only find those names in the south. She laughed and said I was too observant.

Saturday: Went to the beach... again. Went to Broadway at the Beach (Amusement park, shops, movie theaters, imax theater, paddle boats, etc...). Went to an amazing seafood buffet called Seafare. Ate more than I have ever eaten. Read. Watched Narnia.

Sunday: Sat around and read. Had roast for dinner. Took a long walk on the Beach. Drove around looking at mansions on the beach. Watched Narnia 2.

Monday: Went to the beach. Got so sunburned I couldn't even sit down. Went miniature golfing at Mt. Atlanticus. Sang Sophie to sleep. Finished the Hunger Games series.

Tuesday: Too sunburned to go to the beach. Went to see Clash of the Titans. Packed up suitcases. Watched The Incredibles.

Wednesday: Cleaned condo. Drove to Charleston to take a carriage ride. Carriage rides were too busy. Went to airport instead. Sat in airport for three hours. Plane got delayed another three hours due to mechanical problems. Finally got to Atlanta. Missed connection to Salt Lake. Next available flight to Salt Lake is at 7:45 a.m. Delta tells us we can sleep in their hotel and gives us meal vouchers and overnight kits since we don't have our luggage. Wait for an hour for the shuttle to pick us up. Get to hotel. Wait in a long line to check in (several other flights had been delayed and all the passengers were being taken to the same hotel). Order dinner. Get to sleep at 2:00 in the morning.

Thursday: Wake up at 6:00. Shuttle to airport. Realize we forgot our boarding passes and meal vouchers at the hotel. Get new boarding passes printed but we don't get to eat breakfast. Wait at gate for an hour. Board plane. About ready to take off but a plastic bag flew into the engine and caused some damage. Got off the plane. Waited for Delta to tell us where to get on another plane. Other plane is on the other side of the airport. Get to new gate and wait for another hour. Get on plane to Salt Lake. Our food for the flight is still in the damaged airplane on the other side of the airport. A catering truck tries to chase down the plane to get our food. Wait for another half hour. Sophie has a meltdown and wouldn't calm down. A flight attendant let us watch a movie for free to calm her down. Sophie falls asleep. Four hours late, we finally leave. Olivia has to go to the bathroom about 6 times. I have to take her. By the end of the flight I am about ready to hurt someone. We land in Salt Lake and think that this nightmare was over. It wasn't. Our luggage was lost. Parents went to talk to some baggage claim people. Had a nice chat with an old man about lifeguards and cowboy hats. Finally find our luggage and go home.

I don't think I will be flying on a plane again for a while.

I will post some pictures soon.

Sounds perfect. Only way it would have been better would have been to invite your other little sister and her mom!
